Prof. Stark was the scientific advisor of the European novel Tele-surgical system, scientific and medical advisor of the ELSAN, a 120 hospital group in France and is a guest scientist at the Charite’s University hospital in Berlin. Narjes Shiraghaei Kootenaei is a freelance speaker and trainer and head of Mazandaran Midwifery association, IRAN since 2015. Her work is based on “Evidence Based Midwifery” and her book ""Is it safe in pregnancy?"" is the first in the field in Persian language, has been praised both by midwives and moms. For her, sex education and family planning are two pillars of a healthy society and although in Iran both topics are sensitive and in most cases forbidden, she managed to start and successfully continue her informative and frontier workshops on these topics for the last 5 years. It's never been easy, neither the government nor the society in general is keen to openly talk about these issues. She didn't stop on teaching the midwives and colleagues on these topics. She managed to convenience school's deans and parents of teenagers to agree to sex education and since 5 years ago she regularly has sexual health workshops at 5 schools. Also she has a strong presence on online platforms especially on Telegram (the leading social media platform in Iran) for sex education.

Sarah Chitongo is a Nurse and Midwife with 16 years of experience in all areas of Midwifery. She is also an experienced Senior Manager who left the National Health Service (NHS) as a Deputy Head of Midwifery. She has set up a High Dependency Unit (HDU) on a delivery suite. The aim of the HDU was to offer women and their families a consistently high level of individual, medical, and psychological care, delivered by staff who understood the physiology, pathology, psychological and cultural needs of BME obstetric groups and the wider community. There was initial anxiety on the part of midwives around the mechanization of care, but competence and confidence was developed through an informal structure that she developed. She is an ambitious manager who has built a reputation developing and motivating staff. The management style focuses on three main things; innovation, quality and staff. She has excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire confidence and build strong stakeholder relationships to ensure that the curriculum is at the forefront of knowledge and reflects the latest research insights and materials. Further roles within current position include generating and presenting annual management review reports as well as providing consultancy for academics within the department in relation to midwifery education.

Elinor Jenkins has started her Midwifery career at Isle of Wight in 1999. She moved to New Zealand to work on a case loading midwifery post for three years in 2003. On her return to UK in 2007, she joined Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, where she worked for eight years as a Staff Midwife. During this time, she became Supervisor of Midwives and Research Midwife. In 2016, she has completed her Clinical Doctorate. In 2015, she took the combined post of Clinical Lead for Research and Research Manager at Isle of Wight for two years. In 2017, she returned to Clinical Midwifery and began Postdoctoral development as a Clinical Researcher. Her research into labial suturing began in 2010, when she realised that there was a significant lack of evidence for this type of genital trauma and women were not receiving evidence based care. She conducted an audit of labial suturing in 2011 and went on to gain funding for further research in 2017.

As a woman from another culture and a clinician who provides care for a diverse population, her focus is on cross cultural women’s health care. Loredana Zordan is an Acupuncturist and a Midwife. She is teaching nationally and internationally by conducting workshop for midwives on the use of acupressure for pregnancy and birth. Since the introduction of the workshop in Italy “Acupressure for pregnancy and birth” many hospitals are introducing acupressure to facilitate labor induction and pain relieve in labor. This allows midwives to expand their role, becoming more complete and independent practitioner, acupressure being drug free and therefore not having harmful teratogenic effect, provides a much safer and satisfying childbirth experience as well as facilitating a more natural and less medicalized childbirth.

She has completed her BSc in Midwifery at Survey University in Iran in 1999. She has completed her MSc in Advancing Womens Health Care at Kings College London University which led her to research and publication on womens experience of de-infibulation in the UK. She is a Member of the Royal College of Midwifery in the United Kingdom. She also worked as a Research Midwife in the Department of Maternal and Fetal Research Unit at Kings College London. She is a strong advocate of midwives and natural childbirth. She is a mentor and sign off mentor for clinical practice of student midwives.

After completing her undergraduate studies of psychology at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana in 1987, she completed her specialisation in clinical psychology at the Medical Faculty in Ljubljana in 1993. As a junior researcher she was involved in research work and in 1994 finished her doctorate at the University of Ljubljana in the field of a preventive program for reducing consequences of premature birth for prematurely born babies and their parents at the Neonate Intensive Care Unit. In 1994 she completed a 4-year training program in Experiental Family Therapy and in 2008 the Masterclass Gestalt Experiental Psychotherapy at the Kempler Institute in the Netherlands. In addition to her clinical work, where she expands the field of healthcare psychology to the field of gynaecology and obstetrics in Slovenia, she is also active in the research and pedagogical field. She was first elected to the title of an assistant professor in 1996. As a lecturer and mentor she is also involved in pedagogical work for students of psychology, medicine, nursing and midwifery, and trainee in clinical psychology, gynaecology and obstetrics, and paediatrics. She presents her research and professional work at home and abroad at international conferences and congresses. She is the representative of Slovenia in ISPOG - International Society for Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and is active in various professional associations and was repeatedly elected to the Committee for Medical Ethics at the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, has already been an appointed member of the State Professional Board of Clinical Psychology at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia, a member of the Management Board of the Chamber of Clinical Psychologists and the first President of the Slovenian Society for Psychosomatics in Gynaecology and a member of the Management Board of the Institute for Family Therapy. Dr. Levine serves as Director of Informatics & Research in a department of obstetrics & gynecology for decades, having developed and implemented a SQL perinatal database; and as a Medical Director of Informatics for a hospital, promoting the adoption of an Electronic Health Record in a large healthcare system. She has been a nurse-midwife since 1992 and was the first midwife certified by Acupuncture Canada. Mostafa I. Abuzeid, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.R.C.O.G., studied at Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt, where he received his P.N.S undergraduate degree in 1970. He continued with is graduate work at Cairo University, Faculty of Medicine, where he received his M.B., CH.B degree with honors. In 1979, Dr. Abuzeid traveled to the United Kingdom, where he completed his OB/GYN residency training at the following Hospitals: St. Stephens Hospital, Westminster School of Medicine, London; Marston Green Hospital, Birmingham; University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom. In 1981, he completed an OB/GYN residency at Wayne State University, Affiliated Hospitals, Detroit, Michigan. During his residencies, he developed a passion for the field of reproductive medicine. In 1984, Dr. Abuzeid pursued his dream of becoming an infertility specialist, and in 1986 he completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama. Dr. Abuzeid is board certified in OB/GYN as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility in both the United Kingdom and the United States. In 1989, Dr. Abuzeid established an in vitro fertilization clinic in Flint, Michigan, at the renowned Hurley Medical Center, where he began not only his career as a clinician but also as an academician as assistant professor in OB/GYN for Michigan State University's School of Human Medicine, Flint Campus. In 1991, Dr. Abuzeid became associate professor, and in 2001, he became full professor. As a professor, he has trained many medical students and residents in the field of reproductive medicine. Today, Dr. Abuzeid, Professor of OB/GYN, Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Director of IVF Michigan, Rochester Hills and Flint, Michigan, continues to work as a respected clinician, researcher, and professor and is a member of both the European Society of Human Reproduction and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Abuzeid is considered a foremost expert in the area of infertility, having authored well over 200 publications, abstracts, book chapters, and reviews. Michael Kleerekoper, MD, MACE, has joined the faculty at the University of Toledo Medical School where he is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and section chief of the Endocrinology Division. He is also the author of numerous journal studies, Kleerekoper serves on the editorial boards for Endocrine Today, Endocrine Practice, Journal of Clinical Densitometry, Journal of Women's Health, Osteoporosis International and Calcified Tissue International. Katie Moriarty (CNM, PhD, CAFCI, RN) is the Director of Nurse-Family Partnership at Detroit Wayne County Health Authority. She has been a nurse-midwife since 1992 and was the first midwife certified by Acupuncture Canada. She launched the first Integrative Healthcare and Complementary Therapies Clinic in Pregnancy and Reproductive Women’s Health at the University of Michigan, Nurse Managed Center. She is the Region IV Representative for the Board of Directors of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). Dr. Moriarty earned her BScN at the University of Windsor, Ontario CANADA; MS and PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. George Perry received his PhD in Marine Biology from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California at San Diego. He completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Cell Biology, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.Dr. Perry joined the UTSA faculty in 2006 from Case Western Reserve University where he was Professor of Pathology and Neurosciences and Chair of the Department of Pathology. He is also distinguished as one of the top 20 Alzheimers disease researchers with over 800 publications, one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in Neuroscience & Behavior and one of the top 25 scientists in Free Radical research . He currently serves as and President for the American Association of Neuropathologists. He is on the editorial board of over 60 journals including American Journal of Pathology and Journal of Biological Chemistry, and is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

His studies are focused on the mechanism of formation and physiological consequences of the cytopathology of Alzheimer disease. We have shown that oxidative damage is the initial cytopathology in Alzheimer disease. They are working to determine the sequence of events leading to neuronal oxidative damage and the source of the increased oxygen radicals. Their current studies focus on (i) the mechanism for RNA-based redox metal binding; (ii) the consequences of RNA oxidation on protein synthesis rate and fidelity; (iii) the role of redox active metals in mediating prooxidant and antioxidant properties; (iv) the signal transduction pathways altered in Alzheimer disease that allow neurons to evade apoptosis; and (v) mechanism of phosphorylation control of oxidative damage to neurofilament proteins.

Irene Chain Kalinowski (1956) was born in Rotherham South Yorkshire, England to Polish immigrant parents, grew up and trained as a midwife in Rotherham. She has practiced midwifery through three continents, Europe, the Middle East and New Zealand. She currently practices in New Zealand as a self-employed case loading midwife. She holds a diploma in Homeopathy and provides holistic midwifery care where 95% of women sustain normal birth and celebrate it. She has delivered more than two thousand babies. She has practiced midwifery for thirty five years. A journey, that has taken her through countries where women have faith in childbirth and through countries where birth is medicalised and women are fearful of it. To that her first book the Heart and Soul of Midwifery tells a story of how birth has become so complex in our western society and how we need to make changes in the way we provide maternity services. She released her second book My Body My Baby in March 2013 inspired by her niece’s traumatic birth experience and alarming C Section rates. Deeply concerned about the loss of a dear midwifery colleague she co- authored the book With Woman With Midwife with Me in 2014. Irene believes that no woman should be traumatised from her birth experience and that childbirth should be a spiritual and celebrated event. Irene is very passionate about midwifery and her colleagues around the globe to which she co- authored the book Three Blind Mice in which three midwives have three mouse angels and they are on a mission to save childbirth and midwives. Irene has Also authored Let It Be and The Ugly Ducklings, and has co-scripted two screen plays. She is Director of Marketing at Word First Publishing

Levine received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1974 and his M.D. from the Chicago Medical School in 1978 and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in 1982. He has been Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology continuously since 1984. He is a member of a number of medical societies including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Chicago Gynecological Society, the Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Medical Informatics Association, to name a few. His involvement in research, education and quality has allowed him to author numerous articles in medical journals, leading him to often lecture to physician audiences. Dr. Levine serves as Director of Informatics & Research in a department of obstetrics & gynecology for decades, having developed and implemented a SQL perinatal database; and as a Medical Director of Informatics for a hospital, promoting the adoption of an Electronic Health Record in a large healthcare system. He continues to have a general obstetrics and gynecology practice, and has been listed in America’s Top Doctors for over a decade. He lives with his wife and has 2 adult children.

Mostafa I. Abuzeid, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., F.R.C.O.G., studied at Cairo University in Cairo, Egypt, where he received his P.N.S undergraduate degree in 1970. He continued with is graduate work at Cairo University, Faculty of Medicine, where he received his M.B., CH.B degree with honors. In 1979, Dr. Abuzeid traveled to the United Kingdom, where he completed his OB/GYN residency training at the following Hospitals: St. Stephens Hospital, Westminster School of Medicine, London; Marston Green Hospital, Birmingham; University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom. In 1981, he completed an OB/GYN residency at Wayne State University, Affiliated Hospitals, Detroit, Michigan. During his residencies, he developed a passion for the field of reproductive medicine. In 1984, Dr. Abuzeid pursued his dream of becoming an infertility specialist, and in 1986 he completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Alabama. Dr. Abuzeid is board certified in OB/GYN as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility in both the United Kingdom and the United States. In 1989, Dr. Abuzeid established an in vitro fertilization clinic in Flint, Michigan, at the renowned Hurley Medical Center, where he began not only his career as a clinician but also as an academician as assistant professor in OB/GYN for Michigan State University's School of Human Medicine, Flint Campus. In 1991, Dr. Abuzeid became associate professor, and in 2001, he became full professor. As a professor, he has trained many medical students and residents in the field of reproductive medicine. Today, Dr. Abuzeid, Professor of OB/GYN, Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and Director of IVF Michigan, Rochester Hills and Flint, Michigan, continues to work as a respected clinician, researcher, and professor and is a member of both the European Society of Human Reproduction and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Abuzeid is considered a foremost expert in the area of infertility, having authored well over 200 publications, abstracts, book chapters, and reviews. He continues to research at his facility to remain on the cutting edge in the field of reproductive medicine.
